Hewlett Packard Ink CartridgesEvery day thousands of people search the Internet for information on Hewlett Packard Ink Cartridges. Some are looking for technical information, but most, like yourself I suppose, are hoping to find a way to save a little money on your refills or replacement cartridges. First, let me warn against using compatible cartridges. If you've invested the money for a good printer then do yourself a favor and protect it by being willing to pay a little extra for your ink too. Some cheaper refill kits and compatible cartridges can contain lower quality ink that gums up and can cause damage to your printer. Not all are lesser quality like this, and some are said to be quite good, but why take risks? On the rest of this page you should find plenty of information and resources to help you learn or save more with your Hewlett Packard ink cartridges. |

Open Question: Can anyone explain why my '6 colour photo printer' seems to drink 'yellow' ink?
It's an HP Photosmart D7160. I'm very happy with it as a general printer - and the B/W doc printing seems cheapish on black ink. I seem to be getting through 3 times as many 'yellow' cartridges as any other colour.
I don't print a lot of 'sepia' inflected photos - if anything I could understand it if I ran out of the blue shades - I do photograph a lot of seascapes.
Resolved Question: I have an ad posted on one of the free sites looking for an HP #26 ink cartridge,?
A lady responded that she has an HP #28 cartridge I could have.
I did not know that it was possible to switch the numbers out on ink for printers. Can you? I don't know how to find out, as I am sure if I ask on the HP site, they will say no because they want me to buy the #26.
What is the consensus on this? Can you switch them out if they are the same size?
Please no replies about buying one anyway, or filling the old one with new ink as I know about that stuff and just want to know about switching. I am poor and cannot buy or refill anything at this time.
Open Question: how do you change the ink cartridges in the HP 5610 printer?
Open Question: I need help fixing my HP Deskjet 6980 printer?
I have the printer said above and it is not working. I have called HP and they will not talk to me because warranty is done and their website is not helping out either.
The problem with the printer is that the power light, return (paper) light, and both ink cartridge lights are blinking. In exactly that order and not all at once. Not only that but the ink cartridge goes to the left side of the computer (where the lights are) and just sits there. I was hoping that someone could somehow help walk me through what to do to fix my printer.
The things I have done to the printer to try to fix is what the website tells me...turn off the power (which it actually will not turn off unless unplugged), and/or unplug the power cord from the wall and/or printer, and I have cleaned the strip that the ink cartridges slide on with an alcohol pad. Which none worked and those are the only options I could find for the problem.
And just one last thing to remember....I cannot use the power button to turn off the printer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Open Question: Help with my CIS system for my HP Photosmart C5180?
I purchased a CIS ink system a few months ago. Prints great. In the beginning, every time the ink was drawn from the large storage to the ink cartridges in the printer, ink would spray from the top of the storage wells. As the ink has gotten lower, it has stopped, except for light cyan. I had thought maybe the storage wells were filled too high. Now, all are at about 80% full, except the light Cyan is about 50%. It is the only one that still leaks. From the top and the bottom. I have never purchased a system like this and have no idea how to fix this.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
